A trio of postcards documenting the life of the Vaterland, aka Leviathan.
Above, a rare Army-issue postcard showing Vaterland/Leviathan in dazzle paint.
Following the war, Leviathan was given to the United States line. Like many other post-war cards, this postcard is leftover Vaterland stock. The Vaterland name remains on the bow, though blurred to obscure it, and the funnels are painted in the Hamburg-America colors instead of the red, white and blue colors they were given when taken over by United States Lines.
