Suggestions, please?

Does anyone know of an inexpensive or free forum app? I like vBulletin, but I simply can’t justify the $180 price (plus $60 annual maintenance fee) for the extremely small utilization this would have.

I tried WP-Forum, which I like the looks of, but I can’t get it to work.

  2. Vanilla — I used it for a project (that went nowhere, so I uninstalled it). Very easy set up and maintenance. Clean look. Not as many features as phbbb, but is that a bug or a feature?

  3. I can’t help but notice that it claims I left my comment at 5pm — when it is only 4pm my time, and certainly 3pm your time.

    Check your wp configuration….

  4. Well, howdy, Other. I didn’t know you still read this.

    Thanks for pointing out the faulty timestamp. It must have been reset the last time I did an upgrade.

    phpBB looks promising, um, other other Michael. I’ll give it a shot. If that becomes the fourth app which fails to install on my hosting server, I’ll try Vanilla. And failing that, I’ll give up.

  5. Regular reader via your RSS feed, thankee kindly. Even keeping tabs on our boyhood friend Herr Heidelberger, who certainly has a lot to say on a regular basis. If I ever have anything to say these days, it is usually far from grammatical, if not far from lexical.
