The couplet gets a bad rap. What would a Shakespearean sonnet be without the lowly couplet? Hell, I proposed using a sonnet, and the titular question was phrased in a couplet.

Monda, feel free to use this in your classroom as an example of how not to write!
However, when thinking of politics, a childish, repetitive, relentlessly staccato sing-song seemed the natural way to go.
