I tried to reopen the file here on my computer and got an invalid jpeg format error; it may have corrupted. I resaved it without the color profile and re-uploaded it, and now it seems fine in Firefox.
The paper is OfficeMax brand ivory pastel. Not high-end. About $7/ream. it fairly closely matches the look of authentic old telegram paper.
Strikethru: yeah, I’ve seen that one before. I don’t really care for their representation of Depression-era portables. Some of us really like them. Yes, it’s skimpy and tinny, but it’s held up better over the years than anything made today will.
Duffy: according to Rehr, there are about half a dozen known surviving specimens of this particular machine. So yes, I’m being deliberately coy.
“The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking fine typewriters, and upon finding one typewriter of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.
Yeah, except if he wants too much for it, I’m not going to sell all my other typewriters in order to buy it; I’m going to go, “Screw you, Mr Antiques Dealer!”
